About The Show
The changes in popular music in the 1960s reflected the changes in American society, as young people born after World War II clamored to assert their values. Among their most eloquent spokespeople were songwriters like Bob Dylan, Lennon/McCartney and Paul Simon.
“Top 40 Radio” in the 1960s embraced all types of popular music, both traditional and revolutionary. Louis Armstrong’s “Hello Dolly” could be heard right after the latest Rolling Stones hit.
Suzanne and Glenn have selected nine singable hits from the era that will be instantly familiar to anyone who turned on an AM radio in the 1960s. With our computer, projector and screen we illustrate every song with photos and videos. Between the songs, Glenn shares interesting stories about the songs and the performers who made them famous. The program also includes an entertaining quiz about TV theme songs and and amusing look at some of Elvis Presley’s less-distinguished movies of the 1960s.
Singing along is encouraged throughout the show. Song lyrics are song projected onto the screen as we perform, making it simple to have everyone join us!
Our program will transport the audience back to the Swinging ’60s. Will everyone have a groovy time? “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!”
